As the name suggests, this tree is a thousand years old. It looks like an umbrella covering all the sky, gently blessing this Naxi village. According to legend, this tree was planted by a local living Buddha. Ever since then, there has been good weather for the crops and the people there have lived a happy life. Every year, people wear holiday clothes, singing and dancing joyously around this ginkgo tree, and praying for the coming year.
