Weixi customs

　　The Naxi people believe in Dongbaism and Tibetan Buddhism, among other religions.

　　The Naxi people of Lijiang also commonly believe in the "three flowers" god, becoming a people of multiple faiths. Dongbaism is a unique religion of the Naxi people. Dongba culture is named for its preservation in Dongbaism. It mainly includes Dongba script, Dongba scriptures, Dongba paintings, Dongba music, Dongba dance, Dongba ritual objects, and various sacrificial rituals.

　　Dongba, meaning "wise man," is the organizer and officiant of religious activities. Because they master the Dongba script, can write and recite scriptures, dance, paint, and sculpt, and understand astronomy, geography, and calendars, they have become important inheritors of ancient Naxi culture. Dongbaism is named after the Dongba.

　　Dongba script is a pictographic script mainly used and passed down by Dongba believers to write Dongba scriptures, hence the name Dongba script.
