The establishment of the Baima Snow Mountain Nature Reserve and National Park

The Weixi County Conservation Bureau and National Park have implemented a series of effective conservation measures. Local residents' awareness of conservation is steadily increasing, and the critically endangered Yunnan snub-nosed monkey has been effectively protected in this area, with its population stabilizing and growing year by year. Currently, over 1200 Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys have been identified. Since the establishment of the National Park in 2009, visitors entering the primeval forest in the morning often see the heartwarming sight of Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys foraging.
